The study argues that reducing future populations by empowering women through education and reproductive healthcare, could help to cut 85 Gigatonnes of CO2 emissions by 2050.

Yes, I think it would help to reduce the population in a good way. But there are still too many countries and cultures where women are oppressed. Girls are not even allowed to attend school in Afghanistan any more! How medieval is that? What are they supposed to do, stay at home, cook and produce children?
