The 9 Countries With Highest Population Growth Rates
According to United Nations (UN) figures, there are currently 9 countries with a population growth rate in excess of 3 per cent per annum. These countries are listed below in descending order.
In the case of Tokelau, a remote group of atolls in the South Pacific Ocean, with a population of just 2,634, the actual growth is tiny by comparison to others.
In the case of Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with a population currently in excess of 113 million, a 3.18 per cent growth rate equates to a significant ongoing surge in the country’s numbers.
It is estimated that by 2050, the DRC’s population could surpass 215 million.
