Should there be a maximum family size?

The UK prime minister Boris Johnson has done a lot of talking recently about the urgent need to address climate change (including a lot of waffle at last years COP26 summit). And now I’ve discovered he has 7 children! He’s not exactly walking the walk is he?

I’m not sure about the ethics of imposing a limit on family size, but 7 is certainly increasing your carbon footprint.

I’ve tried to calculate roughly how much the population would increase by in the next 10 years if every new couple had 7 children. It’s a bigger number than I can deal with. Perhaps Boris Johnson knows?
